Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs has vetoed a bill, House Bill 2324, that would have allowed the state to hold confiscated cryptocurrency in a fund.
The bill was approved by the House of Representatives but vetoed by the governor, citing concerns about untested investments in cryptocurrencies.
The proposed 'Bitcoin and Digital Assets Reserve Fund' would have overseen seized digital assets, with allocations to the attorney general's office, the state general fund, and the new reserve fund.
The veto could be overridden by a two-thirds majority in both houses of Congress, which currently seems unlikely. Governor Hobbs has also vetoed other cryptocurrency-related bills in the past.
