Assassin's Creed Shadows introduces a new update featuring a nightmare difficulty mode and a collaboration with Critical Role.
The collaboration adds a new mission involving a character named Rufino from a previous Assassin's Creed-themed oneshot by Critical Role.
Rufino uncovers a deadly conspiracy and seeks help from other characters in the game to stop the assassins.
Players can earn Rufino as an ally by completing the quest, along with receiving the Critical Role logo as a banner.
Additionally, the update includes a new nightmare difficulty setting that enhances enemy AI, combat challenges, and the availability of resources.
Players can now choose to wear headgear during cutscenes and toggle specific types of visual effects.
The regional alert system has been expanded to the entire province, triggering alarms if players repeatedly attack civilians or military units outside castles.
There are three camera presets for horse riding, and a new Ultra Low visual quality level has been added for PC users.
