Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin demanded a 50% share in central taxes at the Niti Aayog meeting.
Stalin emphasized the need for a dedicated urban transformation mission in Tamil Nadu, being the most urbanized state in India.
He urged for projects similar to #CleanGanga for rivers Cauvery, Vaigai, and Thamirabarani with English names for national coherence and regional pride.
Stalin also highlighted the discrepancy in the state's current share of 33.16% against the promised 41% in central taxes.
