Atelier Xi designs AYDC Public Art Center in Guiyang, China as a series of sculptural pavilions integrated into the landscape, reimagining architecture's role in culture-driven communities.
The project, completed in phases since 2022, includes the Xima Library, Ginkgo Chapel, and Dali Stage, each designed to serve different functions while sharing a unified architectural language.
The pavilions feature porous travertine exteriors and stainless steel interiors that filter light and air, creating spaces for reading, performance, and contemplation within the natural surroundings.
Atelier Xi's AYDC Public Art Center aims to activate the site's vitality with sculptural interventions, inviting local artists and residents to gather informally and engage with the landscape.
