A study by IIHS shows that automatic emergency braking systems fail to recognize motorcycles. In a test conducted, only one out of the 10 cars achieved a 'good' rating in recognizing motorcycles.Half of the 30 cars tested in a larger scale test had a 'good' score, while seven were rated as 'poor' in avoiding collisions with motorcycles.Rear-end impacts are a major cause of motorcyclist deaths, highlighting the importance of improving AEB systems to recognize motorcycles.
