The pilot testing of the point-to-point speed monitoring system under AWAS has not started yet, as confirmed by the transport minister's office.
The new system aims to replace static cameras and will detect speed violations by measuring travel time and distance on selected routes.
The pilot project includes routes like KL-Karak Expressway and North-South Expressway, with accident-prone areas also targeted for the installation.
The implementation of the system, initially set for June, has been delayed, and no specific timeline for the start of the pilot project has been provided by the transport ministry.
