An Israeli experiment involving an automated drone taxi took place in Jerusalem as part of efforts to develop a network of drones for transportation and traffic alleviation.
The drone, manufactured by a Chinese company, flew for a few minutes from Hadassah hospital in Jerusalem. It can cover over 20 miles and has two passenger seats.
Israel has been conducting extensive drone tests, with over 20,000 flights, as part of the Israel National Drone Initiative, supported by public and private companies with an investment of $16 million.
