Swave Photonics, a holographic display company based in Leuven, secures an additional €6 million in funding for their Augmented Reality (AR) technology.
The funding round was led by IAG Capital Partners and included an investment from Samsung Ventures, aiming to accelerate the commercialization of Swave’s holographic display technology.
Swave's proprietary Holographic eXtended Reality (HXR) display technology utilizes diffractive photonics on CMOS chip-based technology to sculpt high-quality 3D images without the need for waveguides, promising a natural viewing experience and compact form factors.
The additional funding will support the further development of Swave's technology, as well as the expansion of the company's go-to-market efforts, with the appointment of Derek Jensen as CFO and Head of Corporate Development to help drive growth.
