A popular taco chain in the Los Angeles area has closed all but one of its locations due to ongoing ICE raids in Southern California.
Angel's Tijuana Tacos posted on Instagram that only their Anaheim location remains open while the other 15 locations, including taco trucks and stands, have closed indefinitely.
Although not directly stating it, the closures are believed to be related to the ICE raids based on the company's social media post.
Support poured in for the beloved taco chain from its followers on social media, expressing sadness over the closures and offering words of encouragement.
The taco chain, known for its Tijuana-style tacos, was founded by Taquero Angel, who hails from Guerrero, Mexico.
Protests erupted in Los Angeles following the ICE raids, with clashes between demonstrators and law enforcement leading to the deployment of the national guard by President Trump.
A federal judge initially blocked the deployment of the national guard, but an appeals court overturned the decision, allowing the Trump administration to proceed.
Amid the mounting resistance, the Department of Homeland Security plans to continue the ICE raids, although Trump stated intentions to make changes to protect migrant workers.
