Bihar has unveiled a policy aimed at boosting the clean energy economy by promoting stakeholder engagement in renewable energy projects and integrating advanced technologies.
The Bihar Renewable Energy Policy, 2025 targets supporting 23.97 GW of renewable energy and 6.1 GWH of energy storage by FY30, offering incentives like State GST exemption and concessional rates for setting up EV charging stations.
The policy provides incentives such as electricity duty waivers, long-term open access, exemption from certain charges, transmission infrastructure support by state utilities, and more to attract investors and developers.
Additionally, the policy ensures minimum generation compensation, payment security mechanisms, and a dedicated budget for R&D initiatives to further boost renewable energy development in Bihar.
