Binance has enabled crypto spending in luxury destinations like Cannes, Monaco, Nice, and Antibes in France, aimed at integrating digital assets into the region's tourism economy.
Customers can now pay using stablecoins and cryptocurrencies by scanning a QR code, with instant transaction settlement and no gas fees, while merchants receive immediate euro payouts.
Cannes is leading this shift, with the city's mayor urging local merchants to embrace crypto as part of a broader Web3 initiative to stay relevant in the evolving market.
Major hotels, beach clubs, luxury retailers, and fitness centers have already adopted the system, with a promotion offering customers €5 in EURI for spending at least €20 in crypto. This move aligns with a global trend towards crypto-enabled tourism.
