Biotechnology startup Loopworm has raised $3.25 million in a pre-Series A funding round co-led by WaterBridge Ventures and ENRISSION INDIA CAPITAL.
Loopworm utilizes silkworms as 'living bioreactors' to produce complex recombinant proteins, allowing for faster commercialization with lower regulatory hurdles.
The funding will support scaling production, expanding R&D partnerships, and accelerating time-to-market for Loopworm's recombinant protein products.
Loopworm's silkworm-based platform has successfully expressed various proteins and operates a large insect processing facility in Bengaluru for global supply of insect-derived proteins.
