Bitcoin developer Ben Allen received a $100,000 grant from Maelstrom to support the development of Payjoin, a privacy-enhancing transaction tool for Bitcoin.
Payjoin, also known as P2EP, involves collaborative transactions between senders and receivers, improving Bitcoin privacy by making fund tracing harder for blockchain analysts.
The goal of increasing wallet adoption will determine the success of Payjoin, aiming to make Bitcoin more private, secure, and scalable without major protocol changes.
Ben Allen is focusing on simplifying the user experience and encouraging wallet integration, with efforts directed towards performance benchmarks and adoption by popular open-source Bitcoin wallets.
