BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) is now generating more annual fee revenue than its S&P 500 Index fund.
The $75 billion IBIT, despite being 18 months old, earns an estimated $187.2 million annually with a 0.25% fee, surpassing the $187.1 million earned by BlackRock’s $624 billion S&P 500 ETF (IVV) with a 0.03% fee.
Investor demand for Bitcoin and fee compression in core equity exposure are cited as reasons for IBIT's revenue overtake.
IBIT attracted $52 billion of the total $54 billion inflow into spot Bitcoin ETFs since January 2024, highlighting Bitcoin's leadership in the crypto space and investor appetite for exposure to the asset class.
