The BMW M2 CS set a new record for the fastest compact car on the Nurburgring with a time of 7:25.25 minutes, beating the Audi RS3 by about 8 seconds.
The M2 CS, driven by BMW M development driver Jorg Weidinger, outpaced the Audi RS3, a previous record-holder, and improved on the previous best time set by a M2 model.
Other BMW M cars like the M4 CS, M4 CSL, and M3 CS have also achieved impressive lap times on the Nurburgring.
The BMW M2 CS features enhancements like a more powerful engine, rear-wheel drive, and lighter construction with carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic components.
