Ripple has selected The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (BNY) to be the primary custody provider for Ripple USD (RLUSD) reserves, aiming to promote digital asset adoption at an institutional level.
RLUSD is an enterprise-grade stablecoin focused on regulatory compliance and utility, issued under a NYDFS Trust Company Charter with a purpose of enhancing cross-border payments.
BNY will leverage its technology and transaction banking services to serve as the primary reserve custodian for RLUSD, contributing to the development of stablecoin infrastructure and aiming for future interoperability between stablecoins and traditional assets.
Both Ripple and BNY express mutual commitment to innovating in the digital assets space and LLUSD's development, as stated by leaders from both organizations.
