Bolivia has banned the use of cryptocurrencies for energy payments to maintain economic stability and reduce volatility.
This ban, enacted through presidential order 5399, aims to prevent speculation in digital asset markets and maintain the stability of the national currency.
The decision to forbid crypto fuel payments follows a previous plan to use digital currencies to address dollar shortages and fuel crisis, which has now been canceled.
Bolivia's ban impacts the national oil corporation, YPFB, which had planned to use cryptocurrencies for energy purchases but will now revert to traditional financial systems.
