British Telecom (BT) plans to recruit 1,000 professionals in India by year-end, reports The Economic Times.
Harmeen Mehta, BT's Chief Digital and Innovation Officer, specifies that 600 hires will bolster its digital unit, central to digital transformation and product creation. India currently hosts 40% of BT’s tech workforce, totaling 14,000 employees across Gurugram, Bengaluru, and Kolkata.
Despite BT’s global workforce reduction of 40%, affecting 55,000 jobs announced last year, the specific impact on India remains under evaluation, notes the report.
