President Donald Trump has nominated Bryan Bedford, the longtime CEO of Republic Airways, to serve as the next Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Bedford's nomination has received widespread support from industry stakeholders, including AUVSI, Airlines for America (A4A), and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA).
If confirmed, Bedford will face challenges in modernizing air traffic control systems, addressing staffing shortages, enhancing aviation safety measures, and regulating the commercial space transportation sector.
The confirmation process for Bedford includes a Senate Commerce Committee hearing, committee vote, full Senate vote, swearing-in ceremony, and transition period to assume leadership of the FAA.
