Bumble, the Texas-based online dating platform, plans to reduce its workforce by 30% globally, affecting around 240 employees.
The company will incur a cost of at least $13 million in severance packages in the third and fourth quarters as a result of the layoffs.
Bumble aims to save $40 million annually after the job cuts, which will be used for product and tech development.
While the timing and impacted roles have not been officially announced, the reduction process is expected to occur over about a year with potential costs reaching $18 million.
