Business leaders share 5 ways they're taking AI from pilot to use case

  • Business leaders are looking to turn artificial intelligence (AI) from a buzzword to a practice, and are adopting five approaches to do so, according to discussions held by the Workforce Innovation board. These include identifying early adopters, such as human resources, and investing in ongoing training to drive education and adoption. Members also stressed the importance of peer-to-peer learning opportunities and of finding customer pain points that could benefit from AI assistance. Responsible leadership from people managers was another area highlighted by board members.
  • Clients at Accenture were found to have implemented AI in many areas, but had yet to create a coherent business case for the technology, the company's group chief executive, Jack Azagury, said. Infosys' executive vice president Anant Adya added that companies would need to become AI-first in their own operations before they could recommend the use of AI to clients, and Mastercard's chief talent and organizational-effectiveness officer, Lucrecia Borgonovo, called on firms to also consider providing re-skill training for job roles affected by AI.
