Bybit has obtained a Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR) license from the Austrian Financial Market Authority, allowing it to operate as a regulated crypto-asset services provider in the European Economic Area (EEA).
The license permits Bybit to offer products and services in 29 EEA countries through its regional hub in Austria, with its European headquarters now based in Vienna.
Bybit's CEO emphasized their compliance-first approach and collaboration with regulators to ensure regulatory and compliance assurance for users globally.
Bybit plans to invest in its operations in Austria by hiring over 100 employees in Vienna and supporting blockchain education through initiatives like the Blockchain for Good Alliance.
