Bybit has secured a MiCAR license from the Austrian Financial Market Authority, allowing it to operate as a regulated crypto-asset services provider across 29 European Economic Area member states.
The EEA hub in Austria enables Bybit to offer its services to nearly 500 million people in the region, with the establishment of its European headquarters in Vienna.
By obtaining the MiCAR license, Bybit demonstrates compliance with the EU's regulatory standards for transparency, preventing illicit activities, and protecting consumers in the digital finance sector.
Bybit plans to invest significantly in Austria, hiring over 100 professionals in Vienna and collaborating with universities through the Blockchain for Good Alliance to foster blockchain innovation.
