Bybit has fully restored its Ethereum (ETH) reserve to 1:1 on client assets after a recent hack caused a significant drop in reserves.
The hack resulted in the theft of almost $1.4 billion in ETH from Bybit, with the exchange's ETH reserve declining from 443,691 ETH to 63,807 ETH.
Bybit responded by purchasing around 54,393 ETH to replenish its reserves, and has also received substantial support from various exchanges and made acquisitions through loans and purchases.
Despite the hack, the overall impact on the price of ETH was minimal, and the asset still has a chance of reaching $6k depending on regulatory changes and macroeconomic factors.
