The Union Cabinet approves the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for non-semiconductor electronics components with a budget of ₹22,919 crore.
The scheme aims to boost indigenous capacity in the electronics supply chain and attract an investment of ₹59,350 crore.
It is expected to generate additional direct employment for 91,600 citizens and benefit sectors like electronics, telecom, consumer, medical devices, automobile, and power.
The focus is to shift from import substitution to export-led growth, promoting employment, workforce competitiveness, and economic development.
