The Union Cabinet has approved a new incentive scheme worth Rs 1,500 crore to boost low-value BHIM-UPI transactions.The scheme focuses on supporting small merchants by allowing them to accept digital payments without extra costs.The initiative aims to make digital payments more accessible for small businesses in rural and semi-urban areas.The government has set a target of reaching a total UPI transaction volume of Rs 20,000 crore in the 2024-25 fiscal year.
