Activision has pulled the Xbox PC version of Call of Duty: WW2 from PC Game Pass due to reports of a remote code execution exploit.
Remote code execution exploits allow attackers to run malicious code on users' machines via the game software, leading to pop-ups, PC shutdowns, and desktop wallpaper changes.
Various sources, including a white hat group VX-Underground, have reported instances of trolling with Notepad pop-ups, PC shutdowns, and changing desktop wallpaper to show a lawyer hired by Activision to prosecute cheaters.
Activision has not directly addressed the RCE exploit reports but mentioned that the 2017 shooter has been taken offline for investigation.
