Crepdog Crew is a streetwear aggregation and sneaker reselling platform, started in 2020, with 50 homegrown streetwear brands on board.
The platform wants to cater to the niche 5% of the Western wear market, creating a platform for emerging Indian designers.
Crepddog Crew reported a revenue of INR 69 Cr in FY24 and aims for INR 150 Cr in revenue by FY25.
Since its inception, CDC has raised INR 14 Cr from investors, including Harminder Sahni, Masaba Gupta, and more.
Originally rooted in the West, streetwear in India started gaining prominence in the early 2000s and is today characterised by a blend of comfort, individuality and cultural expression.
However, the founders realised that while the sneaker market in India was vast and growing, streetwear was still tough to sell online.
To bridge the gap between the online experience and the in-store touch and feel, CDC launched its first flagship store in South Delhi, featuring a basketball court and a café for customers to relax.
CDC reported a revenue of INR 25 Cr in FY23 and INR 69 Cr in FY24 with streetwear figuring prominently.
By January 2025, CDC has plans to open stores in major cities across India before expanding globally, particularly in markets where designer and western wear are sold at a much higher price.
With the increasing interest of people in sneakers and streetwear, CDC will need to differentiate itself going ahead.
