Canada has launched its first spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) through Purpose Investments and 3iQ.
Purpose Investments introduced XRPP, offering XRP exposure in CAD-hedged, CAD non-hedged (XRPP.B), and USD (XRPP.U) units.
3iQ launched XRPQ, backed by Ripple and initially featuring zero management fees for six months.
Both ETFs were approved by the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) before their release.
Purpose's XRPP utilizes institutional-grade custody via Gemini and Coinbase, suitable for registered accounts like TFSAs and RRSPs.
3iQ's XRPQ provides secure cold storage, accessible to Canadian investors in registered accounts, and potentially to international investors based on local regulations.
XRPQ aims to attract institutional interest with an initial six-month fee waiver, highlighting regulated entry to digital assets by 3iQ CEO Pascal St-Jean.
