Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson delivered a sweeping critique of Ethereum’s long-term prospects, stating that the platform won't survive more than 10 to 15 years.
Hoskinson identified three design decisions as self-inflicted wounds that threaten Ethereum's survival: wrong accounting model, wrong virtual machine, and wrong consensus model.
Hoskinson emphasized the need for technological improvements in Ethereum, suggesting a shift to a telescoping protocol design like Cardano's Ouroboros-Leios and RISC-V instruction set.
He also highlighted Ethereum's lack of formalized on-chain governance as a major obstacle and predicted that layer-2 networks and other platforms could outcompete Ethereum.
