Food delivery giants Swiggy and Zomato have allegedly breached competition laws, according to the Competition Commission of India (CCI).
Zomato reportedly entered into exclusivity contracts with partners in exchange for lower commissions, while Swiggy promised business growth to certain players if they listed exclusively on its platform.
Zomato imposed pricing and discount restrictions on restaurant partners with penalties for non-compliance, while Swiggy threatened to lower the rankings of partners who didn't maintain price parity.
CCI is currently reviewing the investigation findings and will decide on any penalties or changes to the business practices of Swiggy and Zomato.
