The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has ordered Ola to provide customers with an option to choose their preferred method of refund - either to their bank account or via coupon - during the grievance redressal process.
CCPA found that Ola's practice of providing only coupon codes for refunds without giving consumers the choice violates consumer rights.
Ola has been instructed to issue bills or receipts for all Auto rides to ensure transparency and accountability.
In response to ongoing consumer dissatisfaction, Ola made several consumer-centric changes in its app, including displaying contact details of grievance and nodal officers, improving cancellation policies, and providing fare breakdowns.
