The Bombay High Court has issued an interim order restraining Mumbai International Airport Ltd. (MIAL) from making final decisions on tenders to replace Turkish firm Celebi for ground and bridge handling services at the international airport.
Celebi's subsidiary had moved the HC against the revocation of its security clearance and subsequent termination of its contract with MIAL, following the revocation of security clearance by India's aviation security regulator BCAS.
The revocation of security clearance also affected other associate entities of Celebi in India, leading to Indian airports terminating their contracts with the group companies.
Celebi filed petitions challenging the Centre's decision to revoke security clearance and contract termination, seeking suspension and annulment of these decisions, along with restraining MIAL from finalizing tenders for new ground handling agencies.
