The European Space Agency (ESA) has released an image of a white Christmas on Mars captured by its Mars Express spacecraft. The image, taken in June 2022, shows an area in Mars' southern hemisphere covered in layers of snow and ice.The warming sun causes ice sublimation, resulting in bursts of gas jetting through the surface and dark dust falling back in a fan-shaped pattern. The image can be viewed in 3D with a pair of 3D glasses on the ESA's website.
