Centre Approves INR 417 Cr Electronics Cluster in UP

  • The electronics and IT ministry has approved a INR 417 Cr electronics manufacturing cluster in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddha Nagar, to be developed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority.
  • The cluster near Noida International Airport is expected to attract INR 2,500 Cr in investments and generate over 15,000 jobs with ready infrastructure and common facilities for electronics firms.
  • Part of the EMC 2.0 scheme, it aims to reduce import dependency and elevate India’s global electronics manufacturing stature with focus on areas like semiconductors and IoT devices.
  • The Centre is also implementing a PLI scheme for non-semiconductor electronics components and has eased SEZ norms to boost investment in electronics, aiming to make India a global manufacturing hub.
