The UK's Royal Air Force unveiled a new drone named StormShroud designed to jam enemy radars and clear the way for F-35s and Typhoon fighters to operate more freely.
StormShroud is the first in a new family of autonomous systems that will work alongside crewed platforms, supporting pilots by blinding enemy radars to enhance operational effectiveness and survivability.
The drone, utilizing the Tekever AR3 platform carrying Leonardo UK's BriteStorm electronic warfare payload, is part of the UK's Autonomous Collaborative Platforms strategy to integrate drones with crewed aircraft for combat missions.
Air Chief Marshal Rich Knighton stated that the introduction of StormShroud marks a significant step in maintaining the RAF's advantage in air combat, enhancing lethality and survivability amidst a more contested and dangerous world.
