Chery is preparing to launch its flagship SUV, the Tiggo 9, in Australia, which will be the brand's fifth SUV model joining the Tiggo 4 Pro, Omoda 5 (soon to be renamed C5), Tiggo 7 Pro, and Tiggo 8 Pro.
The Tiggo 9 spotted in Australia appears to be the global version with design differences in the grille, front bumper, and C/D-pillar compared to the Chinese-market Tiggo 9. It features advanced technology like a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen.
The Jaecoo J8 and Tiggo 9 share interior and exterior designs, and the Tiggo 9 offers variants with different powertrains, including a plug-in hybrid option in certain markets, while the Chinese version boasts a combination of a 1.5-litre engine and electric motor.
Priced from $49,990 drive-away, the Jaecoo J8 and the potential pricing positioning of the Tiggo 9 suggest it will sit between the Tiggo 8 Pro and Jaecoo J8 in the Australian market, providing customers with a higher-end SUV option.
