China has launched a new cable, called GPMI, twice as powerful as Thunderbolt 4.
The cable is capable of 8K wired connections and supports ultra-high-resolution content and high-wattage power delivery.
It comes in a Type-C version, supporting 96 Gbps bandwidth and up to 240 watts of power, as well as a proprietary Type-B connector version, delivering up to 192 Gbps of bandwidth and 480 watts of power.
The GPMI cable offers significantly higher capability than other existing standards, such as HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, and Thunderbolt 4.
