The Indian stock markets will observe a holiday on Dec. 25 on the occasion of Christmas. No trading activity will take place on the leading stock exchanges, the BSE and the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), due to the festive holiday.
Investors and traders are advised to plan their transactions accordingly, as regular trading will only resume on Thursday, Dec. 26.
Christmas on Dec. 25 will be the last planned closure for the stock markets in 2024 on account of a festive holiday. The markets will again remain closed on Dec. 28 and Dec. 29 for the weekend.
Stock markets in India operate from Monday to Friday, with planned closure on festivals and other national holidays as decided by the governments. Trading activities do not take place on Saturdays and Sundays. These holidays offer traders and investors a window to plan their strategies and enjoy the festivities without worrying about market fluctuations.
