Chromebooks are about to get a lot smarter, and more accessible

  • Google has announced that Gemini will replace Google Assistant on Chromebooks, offering a more advanced AI chatbot with enhanced natural language conversation and a range of tasks like image generation and writing assistance.
  • Gemini will be accessible on Chrome OS as a Progressive Web App and tightly integrate with other Google Workspace platforms, allowing seamless interaction with tools like Gmail, Docs, Calendar, and Drive.
  • In addition to Gemini, ChromeOS M134 introduces Slow Keys, a feature that helps users with limited dexterity by requiring longer key press durations to prevent unintended keystrokes.
