Chromia has launched the Mimir Upgrade, enabling on-chain vector databases for artificial intelligence applications.The upgrade allows vector data to be stored directly on Chromia's Layer-1 blockchain, providing a decentralized alternative to centralized services.Chromia aims to address operating expenses, improve transparency, security, and control for AI developers by decentralizing vector storage.The Mimir Upgrade also includes the first version of the AI Inference Extension, enabling open-source models to operate on Chromia provider nodes.
