Coal India Limited (CIL) aims to drive 1.15 billion tonnes of coal production in the FY26.
Ministry of Coal targets a nearly 10% year-on-year increase in pan-India coal output to 1,150.39 million tonnes for the financial year ending in March 2026.
CIL is expected to contribute around 76.06% to the total targeted coal production quantity for FY26, higher than its share in the previous fiscal year.
The Ministry plans to open 100 mines to create additional coal production capacity of 500 million tonnes per annum by FY47, with over 20 blocks set to be operationalized in FY26.
