The UK competition regulator, CMA, has dropped its probe into the partnership between Microsoft and OpenAI.
CMA initially raised concerns about Microsoft's significant investment in OpenAI, but concluded that Microsoft does not currently control OpenAI's commercial policy.
Under the new Labour government, the focus has shifted to growing the economy, leading to a change in attitude towards regulation.
This decision follows previous AI-related decisions made by the CMA, including clearing Microsoft's hiring of former staff at Inflection AI.
