<ul><li>Cognizant is offering salary hikes to over 300,000 employees this year, in addition to merit increases received by eligible directors and above in January.</li><li>The salary hike comes after the resignation of Cognizant's chief people officer, Rebecca Schmitt, effective May 5.</li><li>Cognizant's CEO, Ravi Kumar, said that the company advanced the merit increase to be six months earlier in the year, following year-end performance reviews.</li><li>The move is seen as an effort to reduce attrition, which has been high in the Indian IT sector but is gradually stabilizing.</li></ul>
