Kei truck advocates in Colorado have successfully fought against a proposed mini-truck ban.
The Colorado Department of Revenue has canceled the rule change that would have prevented the titling and registration of Japanese Kei vehicles and mini trucks.
Federal law allows the import and registration of foreign Kei vehicles that are 25 years or older, but Colorado's rule change did not account for these older vehicles.
Other states have also attempted mini-truck bans, but some have been overturned due to advocacy and political pressure.
