Cloud operator Beeks Group has migrated most of its virtual machines (VMs) from VMware to OpenNebula, an open source cloud and edge computing platform.
Beeks Group, headquartered in the UK, sells virtual private servers and bare metal servers to financial service providers.
The company decided to migrate due to a significant price hike in VMware software licenses, resulting in a bill 10 times higher than before.
While Beeks still has some VMware VMs, the majority of its machines now run on OpenNebula.
