The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Ranga Reddy, Telangana, has ordered Ola Electric to refund Rs 1,63,986, along with interest, and pay Rs 10,000 in compensation to a customer over a defective electric scooter.
The customer reported persistent issues with the Ola S1 Pro scooter, including a faulty charger and unresolved battery issues rendering the vehicle unusable since August 2023.
Ola Electric failed to respond to the customer's legal notice and attend hearings, leading to the commission ruling in favor of the complainant, citing service deficiency by Ola.
Last month, Ola Electric received a Show Cause Notice from the Central Consumer Protection Authority for alleged violations of consumer rights and misleading advertisements.
