A federal court found that Google LLC maintains an illegal monopoly in the advertising technology market.
The ruling was made by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in connection with an antitrust lawsuit filed by the U.S. Justice Department and 17 states.
The court found that Google's advertising products, DFP and AdExchange, broke antitrust rules, but Google Ads did not.
The court will set a date for a hearing to issue legal remedies, which may include ordering Google to sell off Google Ad Manager or change its business practices.
