Switzerland-based light field display startup CREAL has secured $8.9 million in equity funding led by ZEISS, aimed at miniaturizing its light field module for AR glasses.
The funding round increases CREAL's total funding to $32 million and will support the development of natural, comfortable, and healthy visual digital experiences through its proprietary light field display technology.
Light field displays integrated into AR glasses offer more realistic depth perception and reduce eye strain by providing proper focus cues at various distances, enhancing the user experience.
The funding will further CREAL's research and development efforts to integrate its AR light field module into lightweight and fashionable AR glasses, initially targeting enterprise use and later expanding to consumers.
