Crypto supervillain Lazarus Group, backed by the North Korean state, has stolen billions from the crypto industry, including a recent record-breaking $1.5 billion from Bybit.
Lazarus Group now owns 13,332 BTC, valued at $1.12 billion, surpassing Elon Musk's Tesla in Bitcoin holdings by 15%.
In a recent hack, Lazarus Group drained $1.46 billion from Bybit and converted most of the stolen funds into Bitcoin. Tesla, on the other hand, still holds 11,509 BTC worth $969 million.
The distinction between the two comes as there are calls for increased Bitcoin adoption among nation-states and public companies, prompted by Elon Musk's bullish view on crypto.
